Luanda - The minister of Urbanisation and Housing, José Ferreira, guaranteed on Friday that the government will build one million houses in four years as recommended by President José Eduardo dos Santos.

The Cabinet minister was speaking to press while visiting housing project at Musseque Capari district in the province of Bengo.

José Ferreira said that by the end of this year there will be built 75 two-floor buildings comprising 600 apartments.

The minister said that the government wants to regulate the value of houses that is higher at the moment.

"We are working hard to put prices down and for that we will do everything to fix the price at around USD 502 per metres square" he said.

Apartments built by the government will not cost USD 200.000 like people are speculating.

Luanda - The inspectors delegation of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Friday left Luanda for northern Cabinda province, one of cities that will host CAN2010, with the objective to assess the progress on the works of Chiazi Stadium.

For some hours in the region, the mission, led by the Algerian Mohamed Raouraoura, will also inspect the capacity installed in Cabassango village, that will accommodate the teams and CAF members and hospital staff.

On Wednesday, CAF delegation expressed satisfaction with the conditions found on Luanda stadium, where they had checked the finish up of the works, technicians areas and the grass. - ANGOP

According to Hélder José, the construction of houses is a process that will not finish soon since the process of population growth is ongoing, adding that they plan to grant the deprived communities the chance to acquire their own houses, or citizens can also write a letter requesting land for self construction.
